CARE OF LATEX GARMENTS
- Do not leave latex clothing exposed to direct sunlight or artificial light
- Latex should stored in a cool, dry, and dark area.
- When storing latex, place it in a breathable garment bag.
- For lighter coloured latex garments (e.g. red or white products) keep in protective bag and put a layer of white tissue paper in between so the garment doesn't stain.
- Latex can crease or develop permanent folds if stored improperly. If you must fold it, use a soft, non-abrasive fabric between folds to reduce pressure points. For long-term storage, hang your latex garments.
- Do not use oil-based products (like baby oil or petroleum jelly) on latex, as these can damage the material. Stick to products specifically designed for latex care.
- Do not allow perfume or hairspray to get in contact with the garment
- Be careful when wearing latex around sharp objects like long fingernails, jewelry, zippers, or rough surfaces that could cause tears or punctures.
- If you want to restore or maintain a shiny appearance, you can use a special latex shiner, or the wipes (we provide one packet of wipes within your latex order). Apply a small amount of latex shine spray with a soft cloth, and avoid using oil-based products.
- Do not allow contact with copper or metals containing copper, as this will stain light colors.
DRESSING
- Make sure your skin is clean, dry, and free from lotions, oils, or any other substances that can make the latex sticky.
- To help the latex slide on more easily, you can use a latex-specific lubricant or dressing aid.
- When putting on your garment be careful not to overstretch or damage the latex. Latex garments are often tight and can require some patience.
- Take your time to ensure that the garment is positioned correctly.
- Make sure there are no sharp objects (like jewelry, nails, or zippers) that could tear or puncture the latex.
- Take a soft, clean cloth or a microfibre towel and gently rub latex shine product or the wipe provided onto the latex garment, working in circular motions. Make sure the shine is evenly distributed across the surface.
- After polishing, let the latex sit for a few minutes to allow the shine to fully set and dry. This helps prevent any streaking or residue.
CLEANING
- Carefully hand wash your garment in cool water.
- Avoid harsh detergents.
- Do not bleach
- If needed, gently scrub with a soft cloth or sponge to remove dirt or stains.
- After washing, hang latex garments to dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and dry in a cool temperature room. High temperatures can cause the latex to deteriorate.
- Never place latex in a dryer as it can cause irreversible damage.
- To prevent latex from sticking together, use a specialist latex care product or silicone-based lubricant. This will also help keep the garment from becoming too sticky.
- Once dry coat with latex care liquid or polish.
- Store latex in a dark, cool place, ideally in a breathable garment bag to protect it from dust, dirt, and sunlight.
